Been here for a little bit, but haven't mad one of these yet since buying my 99 100.

After having a brand new 17' Tacoma and 19' 4Runner, towards the end of COVID, I realized how much money I could get for my 4Runner, I decided to get rid of it and source something new. I came across a "one owner" , bone stock, 309,000 mile Land Cruiser in Santa Monica and couldn't be happier with my decision.

These are pics from when I got it, but I have done quite a bit since my purchase. I will outline as time goes on. Lots of good info here, glad to be here.

Good looking rig! How much did you get it for if you dont mind me asking?

I was able to get it for 10K. Not sure if that good or bad, but the interior is almost perfect, the timing belt was just done, and it was around what I was looking to spend. When I sold the 4Runner I almost got back what I paid for it after 3 years, so I had a good little chunk to have a little fun with her.

So far, I have been slowly getting it back into working order. The interior is amazing shape so there hasn't been a ton that I have to do inside. Some things that I have done so far:

. Removed all of the nasty wood trim decals and replaced the shifter with an LX470 shifter that was in better shape
. Replaced the raise/lower motor on the drivers seat due to sheared gear
. Replaced all of the burned out bulbs in the dash and switches
. Replaced all of the suspension with new parts
. Replaced all of the lighting with LED lighting
. Ripped most of the interior out and cleaned and repaired/replaced any broken parts (i.e. third row cup holder broken and second row cup holder sticky)
. Removed Stock Roof Rack
. Replaced Front Door Speaker Grills with New
. Added Cabin Air Filter
. Replaced Floor Mats with Brand New Stock OEM
. Removed Upper Hatch Emblems and added 06 Style Emblem
. Replaced the Doors, Ignition, Glove Box with LX470 Setup with Remote. (My Doors locks weren't working well and wanted Keyless Entry)

. Replaced radio with new Pioneer Carplay unit with all new PowerBass OEM Fit speakers.
. OME 2" Lift kit with Dobinsons Front Diff Drop and Freedom Offroad Front Upper Control Arms
. K&N Cold Air Intake Kit
. TRD Rock Warrior Rims with Goodrich KO2 285/70/17s and Brand New OEM Center Caps
. SpyderTrax 1.25" Wheels Spacers from SLEE
. TRD Pro Style Front grill with amber running lights
. Draw-Tite Rear Trailer Hitch
. Gentex Frameless Rear View Mirror with Compass and Homelink
. Plaidwagon Rear Seat Pocket Replacements
. Custom Cupholder Replacement for Center Console, mine was broken!

I think thats a fair deal. There is always someone that got a "better deal" but I will always pay more for something that is maintained and was obviously really taken care of which this one appears to be. I didnt want to do the timing belt on mine and here in Seattle going rate for the service was about $2500.00 and I imagine its similar in SoCal to have a reputable shop/dealer perform the service.

Yeah, from what I heard its fairly similar prices, I used to be a mechanic for 10 years so I try and do as much as I can myself...glutton for punishment, cheap @$$, satisfaction that I got something done while almost killing myself... who knows? :bang::rofl:

Also you cant just not show pictures of the Celica and Challenger/Barracuda in the background lol

Looking great and wow nice work you've jumped right in!! Can you share details on the rear view mirror? How was the install process?

Welcome, and sweet truck! It's in fantastic shape for the mileage, the POs definitely loved it! And what a stable to be a part of! I spent my college weekends restoring a '72 Cuda with my college roommate, I had skinned knuckles for 3 straight years and learned a lot about wrenching on those beasts (he used two parts cars to build his Plum Crazy one).

Im Digging this... you got a source? I saw your other post, Thank you!!

"TRD Pro Style Front grill with amber running lights"

The windshield was replaced at some point in its life, when I got it, it had a "run of the mill" aftermarket mirror. I am not sure what the stock one looked like. It was fairly straight forward. Power, ground, and constant, tried to grab all those from the roof console. Especially with all of the window on this thing its nice having an auto-dimming mirror.

Thank you that's helpful!

I hate you (and I mean that in the nicest way) LOL Im a muscle car guy and yours look awesome........but man that Celica is cool! Didnt even know I wanted one until now

 I like a little bit of everything, my first car was a 62 Ford Ranchero, so I've always been into old cars. I used to have a 71 Datsun 510, had to get rid of it and always wanted another Japanese car. Found the Celica and fell in love with it, it has a lot of lines and ques from the Mustang and the 'Cuda. Becomes more apparent when they are next to each other. Like a mini muscle car, lol. Definitely gets a lot of looks and thumbs up!

It looks nice. I sold a 4Runner and Tacoma too and got the LX. I wish I had kept the Tacoma, it was a unicorn: V6, 4x4, Manual without a spec of rust.
