Reading the searched "horn upgrade" threads I see a lot of folks used the FIAMMs. My question is regarding which model did most of you use? carparts.com has the 130db Freeway Blasters for $6 each (retail @ $37) and the 125db Add-A-Horn for $13 each (retail @ $26) and the 130db Extra-Loud Horn for $12 (retail @ $27). Each are available in both high and low tone. It would seem to be a no brainer to choose the Freeway Blasters based on price savings over retail but I want something that will install with ease. The Extra-Loud horn looks more like OEM.

Any opinions/comments much appreciated and TIA.

When I replaced the horns on my 60 series I went with both a high and a low tone horn. I thought it sounded pretty cool. (and loud).

Yes, I intend to do that, just don't know which model of FIAMM horn most here have chosen.

I went with the freeway blasters. I am happy with them.

Did you have to use the 'required' relay or did you just splice them into the factory location?

On my old 4Runner, I used Freeway Blasters I found at Pepboys. They were ~$15 for both high and low, IIRC. I just spliced into the factory wiring and I was good to go. Very simple to do.

There is something about the lack of testicular fortitude that the stock 80 horn has that sands out. Big ass truck, bitch ass horn...might change it some day.

Freeway blasters. Easy install. No relay.

I put chevy horns on my truck. Now it sounds like a truck. :D

I got the Fiamm Freeway horns and they are a big improvement over the stock horns. Easy to install too - drop in replacement.

It's hard to describe the sound, but I would say it went from a trecel-like sound to a big 1970s American Cadillac sound.

I used my old FJ40 horns. Nice tone and loud. Much more manly than the stock 80 horns.

Not sure when TOYOTA decided the LC needed a softer, quieter horn. :frown:

I bought the PIAA Sport horn.
PIAA

They were plug and play. Just rmove the two bolts from the stock horns and bolt these on. plug the wiring in and they work great. I bought the 400 & 500 hrz horns. I like the lower tone.
you can also hear them here:
YouTube - PIAA Dual Sport Horns 400/500

They are around $55 to $60

WOLO Siberian Express, EVERYONE:D will hear you!!!
Besides, you get a compressor to fill you tires.

I am a huge fan of Hella Supertones. They are a bit more expensive than the Fiamm horns, though.

Hella Supertones @ Susquehanna Motorsports

I bought some supertones, too. But they sound just like the stock horns, except a bit louder (still sounds like a Civic). No improvement, IMO. The other "horn-shaped" horns sound much better and fit better.

Oh, you guys can even get some old Ford or BMW horns and hook them up to the stock relay. If you're at a junk yard, should be real cheap. Make sure to get both horns (low and high).

You should hear the FJC horn. It's a :princess: horn.
 I thought the FJC horn sounded better than the stock 80 horn(s). That is, if I remember correctly.

I installed Wolo's new 419 Bad Boy dual tone air horn over the weekend. Took about 15 minutes. Just take off the stock horn and put on the new one. No relay to mess with. Much more of an attention getter.

The best part: $34 on sale RIGHT NOW at Harbor Freight Tools.

Funny thing... I just saw this guy carrying in the back of a pickup truck this generator, which it was running, supplying power to one of those sirens they use for tornado warnings. Yes tomorrow is election day in Puerto Rico and we use the event as an excuse to party!!! Boy that thing was LOUD!!!!
