Hey all, Did a soft sideways slide today wheeling in the woods and dented up my PS front fender pretty bad just in the front of the door. The wheel well got pretty deformed too. Is it possible to unbolt these two pieces and replace or is there more to it? I couldn't find anything in the archives of anyone having done this. Other than I need a 93-94 model year replacement fender only.

A big bummer as she was completely straight before. Oh well. Thanks for any advice.

Both these panels are bolt ons. In fact everything forward of the firewall just bolts on. Nice and easy to replace if you have a habbit of wheeling too hard:doh:

Also, they are the same fenders from '91-'97.

Thanks for the advice! Great news. I can wrench all day but I can't weld (yet). Would the FSM explain how to unbolt? And any suggestions for sourcing? My local pull-a-part only has a 60 on hand. SOR wants about a grand for the wheel well and the fender, and that's out of the question these days. Thanks again for the responses - I love this forum and I am deeply grateful for all the times members have taken the time to answer my questions.

Start pulling bolts. For the fender there are bolts along the top under the hood, one under the cowl (below the windshield), one between the door and fender just below the mirror level (accessed with the door open), a couple at the bottom corner (don't lose the plastic shims under these), a few along the wheel opening, and a couple at the front behind and below the corner light. There is also one on the skirt near the firewall that holds the antenna (not obviously) that must be removed, and then of course the antenna itself will have to come off to replace the fender. I recently pulled the fender to replace the antenna, so I remember these. I have replaced the inner fenders as well, but too long ago to tell you where all the bolts are. Obviously you'll have to remove all the crap that's bolted to it under the hood. I imagine the headlight will have to go, as well as the grill, and maybe the lower valance (filler panel under the grill and headlights). When I did it the whole front end was removed, and it was well over a year ago, so I don't remember what all has to go to get to the inner fender.

Fantastic help. I'll start unbolting per your clear advice as soon as I locate replacements. And no more severe off camber wheeling in the woods on a 3 foot layer of wet leaves:mad:.

Just cruise it on over to Spike's place, he's real good at gently massaging that stuff back into shape!:hillbilly:

What. So I haven't had time to polish it.
