1998 Landcruiser
Champagne/Grey
260k still going strong
Located: NE Tacoma, Wa
Talking with the wife here recently and she indicated that she loves her Land Cruiser we bought for her at the end of last year but the fuel economy isn't what she had hoped for. I think we get 12mpg around town and unfortunately, that is all she drives..
Thought I'd check with the h8mud group and see if there would be any interest if we decided to move her into a 4cyl suv.
After 14 months of searching high and low for a reasonably priced, correctly colored Landcruiser, I stumbled across our rig down in Pheonix. Within a week or so; I had purchased the rig site unseen and flew my buddy down to pick it up. 3 days later, our new 100 series was in the driveway. Made the 1500 trip with zero issues and she averaged 14-16 the entire way.
Once we got the truck we were able to assess what it would take to get it to our overly anal standards. the leather is pretty cracked and dry in the front. The carpet has seen better days.
To replace both would cost around $1400 from what I can tell.
I removed the side steps and cranked up the torsions to give it more of a truck look.
Exterior: Champagne Pearl - Very Common color
Interior: GREY (we looked a long time to find a grey interior)
We took the rig to our mechanic and had him check it out; said the rig runs great. Amazed at how smooth it runs.
I have plans to remove the worn out wood kit and replace with carbon fiber setup; may or not complete depending on the price we sell it for (or if we sell it).
Just replaced the steering rack and pinion (ouch)
Did oil change and shes good to go!
The bad (sort of):
Had one of the trim pieces come off in the carwash =( Not too spendy to replace, its the passenger rear moulding.
Other door mouldings have dings on them; crazy how soft these are. Paint is fine on doors though.
Front and rear paint is chipping and peeling on the bumpers. Not bad but its happening.
Leather has seen better days; if you are gonna wheel it ~ no need to fix, toss some covers on and your good.
Carpet, she is stained fairly well but considering its 13 years old; not too bad.
NO Lockers
Pic below: shows steps and wasn't leveled out
Sorry here is my only crappy rainy pic (live in Pacific NW; what do I expect)?
Here is another I just found; front end shot - next to my S500 AMG 4matic (AWD)... Shes for sale too
24500 full bumper to bumper warranty
If you are interested and / or have questions; please feel free to email me directly at: jarrod AT olyfinancial.com
Pricewise; thinking between $9,500-$10,000
Thanks and
