You gotta be there bro. we've got Apple Pie to drink.

I see no reason why I wouldn't be there. I'll bring some pie to drink as well, hopefully made with real shine this time:D

Wow, Sorry to post so late after everyone else, but me, tank and anna (eric and a couple other guys met her the morning I met yall at the outpost in Nov.) Excited to see the monks barn. Now I need to actually read this thread...

Al, please send Joe the specifics and he'll put it up on the website and get the registration form up for it. I've talked with Joe, and we're going to handle all trips through the website.

Can we bring dogs, he is my kid! you guys know that! haha

Hot dogs only!

I was already scared to let Splash to close to you to begin with, and then you go and say this?

hehehehe

Unless my work calendar changes, I will not be able to attend.

Leading trips with students or training every weekend until the end of March. Are there other ONSC events scheduled for the rest of the year? I tried looking at the website and mud, but couldn't find a 2012 calendar of events.

There is (and probably will always be) some sort of event once a month planned for ONSC. The Meet and Greet works very well for February, because for most, there are the least amount of conflicts, with school, holidays, vacations, etc.

2012 schedule just hasn't been finalized yet, but we'll get it up soon, so that everyone can plan ahead...

Keep in mind the big OBX trip in April is tentatively scheduled for the week of the 21-29th. Actual duration TBD...

I hope to make it to this. I will confirm once I have my school schedule.

Brian, Thanks for the update. Looking forward to what you and the new BOD plan and do.

I plan on making this one, hopefully with my new co-pilot.

Does anyone know if there is a gun range near the barn?

Kenny what types of things are there to explore and sight see in the area?

Adam, a gun range won't be hard to set up. I'll see if we have some targets already at the barn.
As for activities, there is the hiking trail or off-road bike trail just down the road about a half mile. Also, Morrow Mountain state park is across the lake about 10 miles away. Great view from the top and an easy trail down at the bottom by the lake that will take you to the backside of the Narrows dam. We use to take the kids on that trail when they were little; flat and easy.
For the RC cars, there are piles of rocks at the edge of the woods that can be used.
I came across a gold pan that I would like to test my luck with in the creek, if it isn't too cold! If it is too cold, I might be by the fire drinking  and telling lies! :p
