FCC-ID for remote entry

Hello mudders!

I am the new owner (well, my wife actually is) of a 2001 LX470. I will post more details in another "build" thread, once I get rolling on this thing, but one of my first priorities is to get a second key for it.

I have read through most of the key threads, I gather that there are alot of problems with the remote key shell breaking. I would like to get one anyway for my wife to use as I think the convenience will make her happy. If it is junk that breaks I'll cross that bridge later.

I have a nice strong solid valet key, I also have an "Emergency" key which is just the metal part and a transponder I believe. What I dont have is the remote key.

I see I can get them on Ebay and elsewhere on the internet for $70-90 or so, but I must know which FCC-ID to get in order to make sure it works with the truck. But if I do not have a remote key already, where can I find the FCC-ID that will work?

Also, It is my understanding that since I already have the other keys that work fine, I should be able to program the new key to work.

Bumping this up in the hope of someone knowing the answer.

I still have not found the proper FCC-ID so I can get a new remote.

Thanks Jeepgod, but its my understanding there are many different such codes used on different vehicles. Otherwise one remote would open all vehicles. I need to find the right one for my vehicle.
