Hello, I am visiting steamboat springs in 2 weeks and thinking about doing the Farwell Mountain OHV Trail. Anyone has done this can comment on the trial conditions. My truck has all stock Michelin tires. Would that be okay to drive this trail? Thanks.

We're in Colorado Springs, so we don't get out that way very often.

I looked for Farwell Mountain on Trails Offroad but only found a trail guide and info for the Farwell Mountain Lake Road (Forest Road 409.2A). The Lake Road is listed as a 3/10 difficulty, but there was no mention of the Farwell Mountain Road.

I recommend calling the local Ranger District to inquire about conditions and road difficulty. The Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District is in Steamboat, (970) 870-2299.

So...you're saying it's a tire killer? lol

Fret not, OP. This is an inside joke, tho the tire pictured did fall victim to a small rock on a "3/10" trail just last weekend.

LOL. I did not have a chance to do the Farwell trail. But we drive a bit on the buffalo pass and that was quite a fun drive.

Kinda waiting for @SAS to come back with, "Actually, the trail that broke your tire wasn't even rated. You're just blind not to see the only rock in the vicinity that could pop a tire." 🤣
