The 3rd Gen faq has TSB DL001—99 included for greasing the driveshaft of the 96-99 4Runner. The grease type recommended on this tsb differs from a lot of the recommendations online and the fsm. Most people say use lithium with moly for the slip joint, and multipurpose lithium for the spider joint. The tsb does the opposite, moly for the double cardan only and multipurpose lithium everywhere else. Have people used the tsb recommended grease with success?
