With belt on, it is hard to turn by hand. What does this mean ?
When I test drove my 100 it sounded like an 80's semi truck. I turned off the engine, popped the hood and went to move the fan back and forth with my hand on one of the blades. it was very difficult to move and sounded super crunchy. You should be able to move the fan back and forth without any really effort. I used that issue as a bargaining chip. Ordered an aisin clutch the next day and swapped it out.

My opinion would be to swap the fan clutch first to see if that solves your problem. Inexpensive and takes less than an hour to swap. If that doesnt solve your problem then you can move forward with fan bracket.

Jim, I released tension on the belt and the fan spins freely. With belt on, it is hard to turn by hand. What does this mean ?
Sounds like the fan bearing is ok. I would look at replacing the clutch first and go from there.

How did you get the fan out ? After getting bolts off, I just spent an hour trying to wiggle it out without removing shroud and rad hose. Someone else said it comes out without removing anything. I didn’t have success .

Then disconnect the top hose and pull the fan and shroud out together. That's how I would do it.
