I am in the middle of a engine swap in my troopy and I noticed that my 2016 1HZ I had in there has a slightly larger fan blade and a larger shaft then the ft .
Ft has a blue shaft and the late 1Hz an orange one , anyone knows what the difference in cooling would be ?

The orange one has a lot more cooling ribs on the clutch and a bigger blade , this came out of a general market 70 series with oem snorkel and ac so I think this might have been part of Toyota's "tropical" spec package ?

I will put them on a scale later and see if there is any difference on weight.

If all fits, you cannot go wrong with bigger fan and better cooled clutch. It might rob a little more hp but I’d be ok with that to keep a fantastic Diesel engine cool. Are the turning resistance of the clutches different? Big fan and cooler clutch may not make a difference if the fluid is not as viscous on the orange hub.

Any fan clutch I've played with in Aus had had an orange hub.
Not sure if there was different versions here or not
Interesting, my 11/92 HDJ80 had the aqua/blue hub and 8/95 FZJ80 had the blue one same as the US 80s
