I am now of the opinion that when doing the Timing Belt and Waterpump, one should be sure to replace the fan bracket too. On my LX, when doing the first 90k service, the bearing on the fan bracket was already getting rough and had some slack in it. On the LC, I turned over 160k miles a couple of weeks ago, and the fan bracket bearing just gave up. PO did not R&R the fan bracket at 90k with the T-belt service.
I would not trust that bearing for 180k miles.
BTW, no time right now for wrenching myself, so had the shop do the full 90k service (Timing belt, water pump, idler pulleys, tensioners, serp belt, cam and crank seals, oil cooler coolant hoses, hoses for rear heater core, etc. ) added a new fan clutch and wanted to just replace the radiator too. New radiator that arrived from Gulf States Toyota was damaged in shipping, and it was days before another was available. Will do that myself another weekend. I haven't had a radiator (or the fan clutch) on a TLC last 200k miles and much over 12 years or so, so that was why I just figured, while it's all apart....
Anyway, I am zero for two on getting a fan bracket to make it to 180k miles. Luckily it grenaded in my driveway one morning, and five miles from a shop I trust. YMMV
