i am sorry i wont be there this year but has anyone thought of writing an article and submitting it to Todd at Toyota Trails? it would be great for the club. one thing to consider if someone is going to do this. they will not publish any photos or writing that has been previously posted. in other words, if immediately following the FG a bunch of pictures are posted to the web and a write up is written and posted, those wont be printed in TT.

i wish i were going to be there, i would love to do this.

I have a writing/communications degree I've never used.

Just heard back from Todd at Toyota Trails and I'm covering the event.

I'll need a designated photographer for the weekend. I suck at taking pics.

Please use the Yahoo! club e-mail system after the event until the article comes out as Peepers mentioned.

I'm going to write about the event but I also want to talk about the lack of trails that are accessible in New England. Input (facts) on this would be great. All I know is that the nearest legit 4WD trail is 2 hours from my house. Please give me any info you have that can be proven. I'll get quotes at the weekend for opinions.

I'd like to ride in one of the rigs on the tougher trails on Saturday. An article about my now 4 cyl Pig on class 6 roads won't keep anyone awake.

Now I have to buy one of those fedoras with the "press" sign on it.

Update: The article would be in the Jan/ Feb issue.

Also doing another article for the next issue as well on another topic. should be fun.

I'll be writing under the pseudonym "Peepers"

Sounds like you could profile Kina for one hell of an article. With the girls and now Lil Will I think he'd be the perfect candidate. Never mind the cruiser content.

hahahah... thanks for doing this J. I will volunteer Jonathan R. as a photog. He is really good, will be on the hardcore trails if he can get his truck ready and if he cant get it ready even better so he can take more pictures ;-).

more filler for the article? how about how yankee toys has trippled its membership in the past year or so based on some great leadership and more member participation? i think it would be inspiring for other small clubs.

i am psyched you are doing this for the club. let me know if there is anything i can do to help.

time to see if ringpinion.biz is open so i can get those gears for the truck and bring to your guy.

Not filler on the trails thing but another side to the adventure. Membership etc will all be bragged about ad nauseum. Cooking will also be critiqued so Morin better bring his A game on the grill.

Hopefully the photographer will work out otherwise my 1 year old will be busting out the crayons for some sketches.

My other article is about MUD users that are trapped with crappy user-names.(see post above)

Pete, you flatter me...!

I'd happily volunteer to be the official YT photographer. After all, my truck is in sorry shape because of all the $$ I've been dropping on camera gear and NOT on my poor 60. I guess I'd better put it to good use!

Anyhow, I plan on getting there thurs. evening. I can run a few trails throughout the weekend, from stock to ROCKS...whatever people want.

If anyone needs to hit me off list, here's my email: undergroundroot@mac.com

Cheers!

Jon

i knew you were good for it Jon.

I've already written another article that should be in the Nov/ Dec issue. Had to get the rust off the brain before the YT article.

great news! please also keep in mind that Todd, rightfully so is VERY strict about treading lightly... any pics or mention of doing otherwise and the whole article will be yanked from the mag.

this happened with another group i belonged to... the 3FE group.

I'll be treading so lightly the 55 won't even leave the campsite.
