This part popped up a few years back while perusing some parts diagrams. I finally placed an order for one... when it arrives, we'll find out if it can be safely integrated.

How would this integrate? Does it basically replace the crawl control speed settings used in 4Lo?

What’s the point in a 200? I had a hand throttle in a CJ5, but that was because it had 3 pedals and no power brakes or steering. I can’t think of a time I’ve ever wanted for a hand throttle in a 200 or any automatic except potentially winching maybe to bring the RPMs up. Curious what the use case is in a 200 and how it would work since back in the day it was literally a super long cable to open the throttle body manually but the 200 is drive by wire.

This is electronic, no cable, a drive by wire knob... but I'm not sure if it can be put into use as a stand alone, or if it requires the ECU to have software installed.

My main desire for using it on the 200 is increased rpm for charging.

I’d like it for the techy coolness factor.

I've messed with something similar and even if this turns out to require a specific ECU to function, you can probably put together something that would work.

My Tundra runs a Haltech Elite 2500 and until recently it didn't come with a cruise control function. I found a company in Australia that builds cruise control units that plugs in between the throttle pedal and ECU along with other stuff to function. It worked almost as good as factory with the exception that the cruise control stalk has bit of a delay to register an input (not a big deal).

If you know the voltage the pedal uses to send to the ECU (which I do and can help you with) you can probably plug in something similar to the pedal commander or a sprint booster with a knob and control throttle that way. It would be really cool if that part you posted actually worked this way as it would save a pretty good amount of time on wiring and R&D

This is a little pie-in-the-sky and barely related to what you are doing.. but on GM HD pickups their fast idle is controlled through the Body Control Module and the cruise control switches. I had planned to try and implement this on my L92 swapped 80 but had trouble finding a BCM hacker that didn’t want $1000 for the project.. and even then it still might not work if the ECM programming wasn’t there.. etc.

Either way.. another cool route to go about idle control. I don’t know if I’ll ever install a winch but I’m keenly interested in this.

Would seem this might be able to be integrated as an add on to the pedal commander? I would think add safety check for Neutral / Park. Interested to see where this goes

I have seen comments relating to an “idle up” or similar verbiage on the Aussie forums but usually related to the Diesel engine.

I use my hand throttle in the 100 for winching... I could see this as useful for same.

My thought exactly .. rev. up for the winch. The winch is a huge battery draw. FJ40 had a cable, and so did my early bronco/.

After all these years, proof that Toyota still believes in the hand throttle.

Could you post a photo of the connector at the rear? There are a couple of extra connectors in my VDJ, maybe one of them is for the hand throttle just like one was for the rear diff lock switch

It's be really cool to be able to program the ECU to simply allow you to use the cruise control feature (while the rig is in Park) to idle up and set the idle with the cruise "set" button.... I'm sure someone's 12 year old kid could figure out how to do that..... ;)

Ok, so the bad news... This knob only controls a single connector three wire hall sensor. The DBW accelerator pedal uses a double rededunant two sensor system with two different voltages produced, and of course six wires for those two sensors. There will be no plug and play today.

These were never installed in Land Cruisers, so the chances of having the connector present are not good.

Using the cruise control is neat, but I must say, the old style knob switch is where it's at.

I wonder if contacting these guys would do any good. A 1500rpm+/- “fast idle” on a 1-5 minute timer (or tap of the gas pedal to cancel) seems doable. I have used Pedal Commander on two other apps with great success.
