I was lucky enough to land a 62 with the original factory mats, and although the fronts were in sorry shape, they were good enough to reverse-engineer an accurate pattern. I've been experimenting with some different materials to make myself some new mats, and I recently found this:
It's a ~1/4" thick recycled loop material bonded to a recycled rubber composite back. The raised studs are about the size of a nickel. It's somewhat absorbent and a decent match to my grey interior.
There's nothing magical about the material - I found it at a Home Depot in the form of a doormat. You can make one yourself, but I happen to be a guy with a really good bandsaw and a steady hand.
The fit is perfect. I'm floating whether to do a small run if there are enough here who are interested. I'm not looking to make a big profit - just enough to cover costs and some goodies for my truck. A set for all 4 places would probably be ~$90 shipped in the US.
