Hello everyone,

I've finally decided to fix a few things wrong with my factory JBL NAV setup on my '07.

1. CD changer won't play
2. Blew a door speaker, so an upgrade might be in the works

But the biggest PITA yet is that the Factory Bluetooth will just not work with my iPhone 6. For reason the only sound that comes through the car on a receiving call is barely audible through the driver side tweeter. I mean it's so faint even at full volume you can't hear really anything.

Anyone else experience this, and find a remedy?

I do have a Bluetooth w/ mic streaming device that bypasses the XM, but that thing sucks too. Hence how I blew my speaker. For it to be audible I have to crank the volume up to at least 40-45, which is almost max.

Now mind you FM/AM, streaming music from the phone, and all other sources play & sound fine at any volume level.

Any ideas? Is there a unknown flash update to the Factory NAV setup to work with the newer Bluetooth on iPhones?

I've read threads til my eyes cross, so figured a post was valid at this point.

Thanks!

Did you blow the driver's door speaker? All the Navigation and Bluetooth phone audio are routed through the driver's door speaker. If it's blown, you'll only get audio through the tiny tweeter.

The passenger door woofer is the one that's blown. Had the volume up too loud and forgot about it. When I got in my phone streamed music and I about fell out of the car. Doh!

I've tried linking my wife's iPhone 6 and still had the same issue.

No access to an android...

Now I'm wondering if my driver woofer has been blown...

First issue: probably blew the speaker and that's why you have to crank it all the way up

Second issue: get an Android so you can join the rest of us in the 21st century :D

Clarification:

I blew the passenger door woofer this week.

However my iPhone 6 has never worked with the factory Bluetooth since new. Works in my wife's Tahoe and all other cars. So I know it's not the device.

I'm pretty close to getting rid of iPhone. I've had every one since my Motorola Razor days (now that phone was nice!) Only smart phone I've ever had. Kills me to think about losing all the money I spent on apps and shiat with Apple to switch, sigh...

And a replacement factory speaker is $440 list or $335 wholesale

Holy Schnikes!!!!

In my 04ML system the BT worked about 50% of the time with either platform phones. I have added a USA BT-45 and it works but not the best solution.

Refoam your speakers it makes a world of difference and actually sounds very nice.

Yeah, refoaming is the way to go.

How does reforming fix a blown speaker? I thought the coil was damaged when it pops...?

Try an Android phone and see if it works. Or even another iPhone. See if you can eliminate the phone as the issue then move on from there.

Just got a guy at work to test his Android on my LC, and it did the same thing. barely audible only through driver side tweeter. So I know it's not my phone...

You can get non-factory replacement speakers from any number of places online (Crutchfield, etc) for not a lot of money, and they will sound better than the factory speakers.

That's what I'm moving onto now. Just need to figure out what ohm's the driver's are.

None of this still solves my factory BT issue... : \

Remember the difference in OHMs not same as normal car speakers. For less than $50 and about 3 hours of your time your speakers will sound great.

simplyspeakers.com for new rubber. Or amazon from them.

You will have to do with an aftermarket solution for Bluetooth. Updates have made OEM useless.
