Most color sand we do at the dealer on new cars is done with 1200 super fine then rubed out with mid grade compound in stages untill it is smooth .
But thats what i am afraid of i see the same guy sand the same fender for days untill it looks good . Damm im more of an instant gratafacation guy , if i gotta sand the whole truck that way , I dont think my beer budget is that large .

And I had a friend who brush painted a Mustang, then painstakingly sanded and buffed the thing till it was smooth as glass. You'd never know...

Instant gratification for me. More money for beer.
