F/S- 1986 VW Westfalia Camper Van- Looking to sell local first.

Hi.

The time has come to sell the last toy... since the 40 showed up has been bugging me to offload the VW- since the giant snow bank that has been blocking it in has all but disappeared she is very eager to see it go. Some specifics:

• 1984 Wolfsburg Edition Weekender camper van
• 142,000 miles
• Sleeps four comfortably.
• Runs strong- leaks oil though.
• P.O. had stripped the oil plug and is stuck in there (just spins), I change the oil via a powered siphon- works fine (would be simple to drill out the plug and install new one- just never did)
• New water pump
• New rear heater core
• New Fuel pump (last one is included- works fine)
• AM/FM CD player
• Body is in great shape- NO rot- small spot- size of a dime on rear sliding door.
• comes with factory screen for rear hatch door (can sleep with it open = no bugs.
• pop top has small tear on drivers side ~4" long- I 'fixed' it with duct tape 6 years ago- no issues so far.

If you have ever driven one of these then you know that they are not known for their balls- but are VERY comfortable to drive and ride in. Not to mention camping... I hate to let her go, but the 40 disease has gotten a hold of me and so far still loves the Harley...

First $3500.00 takes it.

OK.

I just put a new Die Hard Battery in. Fired up first crank. It was only down 3/4 of a quart of oil after sitting all winter- so oil leak may not be that bad... This is getting ready to go to Ebay at $4500.00... so Puuulease anybody interested speak up!

I just drove it 10 miles round trip and I am starting to reeeeally want to keep it. No real issues. Let me know if you or anyone you know is interested- I would really like to not deal with Ebay or shipping.... I'd even be willing to bring it up to the spring meeting in NH 4/12.

Yup. I'll have to agree with mr. Saltlick. Not much there for towing capacity... You could always drop in a diesel... or a V8...

Thanks Andy- that's my problem- the doesn't like it parked in the yard... The price is very good for it's condition- Torrington eh? I'm in East Hartland- we should hook up some time.

Hi guys.

I suck at getting rid of things... as my wife will attest.

I'm getting another round of 'incentive' to unload the Westy... I have not been very aggressive with it, ergo... in my driveway it still sits. I have realised that I made a mistake reading the title of my post- it's a 1986- NOT an '84... it gets from 21- 25 mpg. not bad for a mobile brick.

$3000.00 ... and it's yours.

Camping season is among us and this thing rocks for camping.


Let me know who wants it! I'm easy to deal with and can help out with getting it to your home- within reason at 5.15 per gallon of deisel...
