I'm about to service most of my fluids. Should I choose one brand over another? Do I need any additives for the rearend? I'm assuming it's a LSD on all LC's?

Using Amsoil in all applications but there are several others as good such as Mobile 1 which I use sometimes in the engine. Have used both and will stay with synthetic. Don't care for the blends seen on the shelves. Walmart has the best price on Mobile 1 that I have found. Amsoil is a little high gut very good. Hear good reports about Royal Purple also but not sure.

I change engine oil every 5-6,000 miles. It could go further but why take a chance. Drain three quarts and refill the transmission at the same time. Change all others once a year whether it needs it or not. Including power steering fluid. Don't forget to get a supply of crush washers to replace each time you drain, transmission, transfer case and both differentials . Cheap insurance. Cooling system and brake fluid? Every 2-3 years using Toyota Red and a good synthetic respectfully.

Everyone has a different opinion. Choose a plan that works for you. Establish a program for replacement and stay with it. Besides a Land Cruise is a good hobby with long life expected.

The one's that get into trouble have a plan they don't use. "Oh, I haven't changed oil in the last 17,000 miles trying to see how long I can go."! A failure will tell you went too long. Don't go the procrastinators route. It tends to get expensive and very embarrassing.

Remember, "Machinery, of any type, loves good quality clean oil". Have seen huge Ingersoll Rand compressors run for 50+ years with good lubrication maintenance.

Thanks. I change my oil every 5k, but I haven't put many miles on the LC. It's been about 2 years since I've done the diffs and TC. I'll do the tranny and coolant next.
