Well I searched the mud archives and didn't find a thread dedicated to this necsisary upgrade to the A440f if one sets up there fj62 for the trail or towing.
anyway there is some mentio nof this upgrade in a few other post and GT down in Mississippi installed a complete extreme transmission but i wasn't able to find many that just install the valve body except Overhanger and he installed an older model.
Anyway i got mine in my 88 fj62 last week and find it has brought my slugish cruiser to life. my fj62 is running 4.88 gears and truxs 34 mt's and while i have a 2.5" exhaust, bored out throttle body, opened up injectors, headers. i have done everything reasonable to increase my 3fe's power and still found it lacking umph. the extreme valve body has really given my cruiser not added power but a better utilizatio of its power. I have only had it a week and have only been on the highway once so far so i can't yet give testimate to how that will go but the dead accereation spots have all but vanished. for all in tense and purposes its like having a new engine. but what it is really doing is allowing the transsion to control the horsepower better.
those looking to do a tranny swap due to lack of power might want to look into this swap first.
