I have a set of extra doors, three good ones. One that is junk due to a hit and run. This one has good glass, and door panel.

Anyway, I am having a had time taking them to a scrap yard. However I have not had any nibbles on the classifieds. (Not exactly true).

I had one nibble, but shipping killed the deal.

I don't live in a climate where half doors would be a option

I don't have anywhere to store them. I guess, tarping them in the back yard would be a idea. However, I don't like tarps.

I had concidered, parting the doors out. Possibly on ebay. Or on here.

There dosen't appear to be any demand for them.

Any ideas? I guess I could give them to someone that was a parts horder.

(I am a bit of a horder myself, but don't concider it healthy. I have a chassis from a 94 80. With the engine sitting in the back forty now, Plus a set of extra seats from a 60, some 80 body parts) (I am a bit sick in the head)

Man if the shipping was not the killer problem, i would have bought the doors.. I need 2 doors.. NUTs is all i have to say..

So ya gonna keep your location secret or put it in your sig line? It really helps to know where you are.

I feel your pain. I tried craigslist for 3 months, trying to off a rolling rig filled with a treasure trove of 60 parts. I asked for a fraction of the value of the collected parts. Nothing.

Finally I offered a free "come and get it " on Craigslist. Stuff was gone in 3 days.

We is cheap bastids, yeah?

Rick

Yeah, post them for free, and some part hoarder will pick em up in a couple of days. I'm not cheap, I just don't have any money...

I wish a few doors was the only thing i had to worry about, i've got 3 60's, 1 62, 5 40's, 1 80, 1 taco, 1 mini and thats just the toyotas.

I am not cheap either, just waiting on winning the lottery. Also looking for the winning ticket that the heavenly father is going to place on the kitchen table..(at least in my dreams) Once I have the ticket in hand well, can you say restored to factory condition, except with diesel engine!!!

West side of Wa is kind of broad. North, South, or Central. Which one is damaged?

Wet side, I am in Poulsbo, about 40 min from Tacoma. The damaged door is Driverside Passenger door. Look for pics in the forsale.

I will just keep them, until they sell. It would be a just wrong to take them to the scrap yard

I don't think anyone said you were cheap. However, With a shipping cost of 100.00 for two doors. I understand where you are coming from.

From my perspective, I have shipped via forward air before. I know that a good container is important. So I think that charging for materials to build said container is fair. In addation, the forward air terminal. Is about a 3 hr round trip for me. Its not like its right next door.

There may be a cheaper option. Two doors do not weigh that much. But they still need to be in some kind of container for a cross county trip.

Look for pics in forsale

if any body between wa and ca wants em im headed up there in feb and could bring em down.

If it wasn't for the shipping.... I'm in really need one! Is probably cheaper for me to fly and bring them as baggage. :steer:

Have you looked at shipping via Greyhound? I did some Porsche fenders that way - it worked out pretty well, easy to drop off and reasonable price...

It's hard to make a greyhound bus to make it to Puerto Rico.:D:)
