Extra-clean '85 FJ60 in AZ
1985 Toyota FJ60 LandCruiser (Land Cruiser), 4x4 (wife says it's time to get one of the 'Cruisers out of the driveway...)
I think of this one as an “Upgrade Starter Kit” because it is nearly all original, and has not been modified from stock ever. So, it could be “restored” to be a classic ‘Cruiser, or it could be upgraded for serious off-roading/rock-crawling, depending on your preference. Whichever you choose, you are getting a rare ‘Cruiser that has been babied, and has rarely, if ever, been taken off-road or used for towing, and has NO RUST or body deterioration. The interior is also nearly flawless, with the original fabric and carpet in top shape. The only visible defect is a small tear in the vinyl on the side of driver's seat, common to all Toyotas of this vintage. LandCruisers are getting very hard to find in this condition.
PRICE: $6450 or reasonable offer (like I said, wife says it has to go...)
CONTACT: Tom H. at <hondo@igc.org> or here at IH8MUD as "BioD 60"
LOCATION: It is in Phoenix, Arizona. Has current emissions and tags.
SPECIFICS:
- This one has a 6 cyl. 2F motor, driving a 4-spd manual transmission.
- Though it has 235K miles on it, it runs exceptionally smooth, strong and powerful.
- The clutch is smooth and solid, and the transmission shifts clean and precisely.
- It has the two-speed transfer case, with a solid Low-4 range, as well as a High-4 and High-2 range, and manual-locking hubs.
- It has a new radiator and hoses.
- The A/C has been converted to new R134a refrigerant, and the compressor is new.
- The body, frame and interior are near perfect, and all body and steering bushings have been replaced over the years for a tight, stable on- and off-road feel.
- The suspension has re-arched leaf springs that give approx. 2-inch lifted “look” over stock.
- It rides on Dunlop 31 x 10.5 x 15 A/T Radial Rovers (70%-80% tread left) w/ original chromed steel, stock Toyota LandCruiser wheels, in very rare, no-rust condition.
- The truck was repainted in the past few years to match the original dark grey metallic factory color. All of it still looks great except the roof, which has faded, and will need some minor paint or rebuffing work soon.
