exterior vent seals...

took off the front fender and rear quarter panel vents to paint them today. the seal/rubber/gasket deals behind them are all cracked, brittle, effed up.

looked around for a bit today, i couldn't find a place that sold just the seals. everybody told me i had to buy the vents in order to get the seals as they could not seperate.

that equals way to much money just to get some pieces of rubber.

any leads?

Could you maybe find some thin carb gasket's , and tape them together?

I would use a couple of strips of black tape to hold them together.

That would work in a pinch!

well, these aren't exactly emergency items. i have the vents on with no seals right now and you can't really even notice from an asthetic standpoint. if it were still raining though i could see it as a potential possibility for water to get behind places it shouldn't.
