For you who have and use your expo style trailers is there any thing you wish you would have done different in regards to exterior trailer lighting? Location of lights, Swivels, More or less lights, Diffused lights, Light location, HID's, LED's or just regular 12 volt bulb lights. Anyone running rock lights or is there a need for them. I know when I'm walking around the trailer at night its nice to see what is slithering around it. Any lighting thoughts would be appreciated.

As a builder of off road equipment im very familure with go fast lighting but this lighting for camping is a whole different thing. Any advice or direction is appreciated. Thanks

I am planning to run led strip light under the frame for ambiance lighting and safety around the trailer. Also add magnetic mounted portable led lighting to shine where needed.

In reading the last couple of days it looks like the more diffused the light the better. I was contacted by the Rigid light people and they like what Im doing with the trailer build. They just dropped off several lights for me to play with and think about the mounting locations. I explained to them that everything on the trailer needs to be at least flush fit or recessed not extending from a mount.

Im really impressed with the quality of their products and excited for the opportunity to help them out with their new project lights. These are what they loaned me to mach up the trailer with. Urber bright and I really am liking the pebble finish lens the most.

I have 2 of those flush mounts cut into my rear bumper and love them.

I use "Dually" like pods on the outside on the trailer. (Chinese knock offs). 2 floods on the kitchen side and 1 on the shower tent side. More than adequate.

Another great little light are the one's by Phantom Trailhawk... Very bright and small footprint.

We have some great lighting vendors here on Mud...

Uncle Nick has these little beauties hitting the shelves soon... http://shop.expeditionlighting.org/XBar_c12.htm

and Cousin Steve over Southeast Overland just got a whole bunch of new LED goodies in... http://www.southeastoverland.com/in...=category&virtuemart_category_id=86&Itemid=33

and Chris at http://www.okledlightbars.com/ is a real gentleman to deal with as well.

One thing I have been doing, more as a hobby than a die hard mod, is attaching 10' to 25' leads on some LED bulbs available at most big box stores. I would recommend having 12v outlets on every corner. I use them as area/utility lights, and also to light the American flag at night on the nose of the camper.

I wouldnt of thought of more lighting on the cooking side... Makes perfect since.

I really like the idea of the extension lights with 12 volt Q/D's on the corners of the rig. Are you putting any type of stand, hook, latch, or magnets on the lights for easy aiming?
