Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone knew of good expedition style trails (i.e. not terrain parks) in the eastern part of our great nation. If I lived out west I would be out there every weekend but in East TN it is a bit more difficult.

It would be great to hear some ideas. Thanks.

I live in KY. Several good places to ride. I live just a few minutes from Slade KY were several people go. You can do a youtube search for Slade KY and you'll see a few of the trails. Other people talk a lot about Harlan KY but personally I've never been so I can't speak to it.

I have been looking online for some off-roading trails in TN for the last hour and a half and have found almost nothing. This is pitiful. I live in the mountains for crying out loud!!! There has got to be something somewhere around here, right?

Expedition? Exploring? East coast US? Seriously?

And "looking for trail"s online?

Harlan (Black Mt. ORV) is a good place that would be close to Knoxville. Is Windrock outside Knoxville considered a ORV park? Our club (Bluegrass Cruisers which Wayne Raintree is a member of) went there last year and it was a decent place. Our club goes to Slade several times a year and it is more a
expedition style area. Another expedition type area is S-Tree in the Daniel Boone National forest. You would be welcome to join us on our club wheeling trips if you would like. PM me for more info.

Oh snap! I live in Lexington and I didn't know there was a FJ club around this close.

Awesome! Thanks for the great ideas and invites. Harlan sounds like the place to go.

Windrock is an ORV park but very expensive - I think $30 per day per person.

Look up the Trans am Trail! It starts in Tennessee and ends in Oregon.

There are some trails in Pisgah. I've gone all around that area using service roads and etc.. I'm not sure if you could go long without touching pavement though. more than a day.

Did a lot of exploring back east a while ago.. all we'd do is look at the DeLorme Atlas for Tn/Nc/Ga and pick a forest service road to go get lost on..

Hard to say which one to go on other than to just pick an area and start exploring. you never knwo what you're going to find. We always were able to find out of the way places that were neat.

I knwo that dosen't give you too much to go on, but maybe it's a start.

As stated above, it's hard to go for a while without finding a paved road, but you can at least arrive at out of the way destinations.

Harlan has a large amount of trails. I live in Pound, Va so im about an hour from where u are located. I've been to Harlan 7-8 times and i've been looking for some people to wheel with locally. I like to do some fun stuff without damaging body panels.
Send me a pm if your interested in checking it out sometime.
