Exhaust manifold nut next to firewall

Use what's called a "wobble" extension. It lets the socket move to the side of center.

that's a tight spot and thw worst part about having to replace the exhaust manifold and or gasket.

if the rig is a beater, use a hole-saw and cut a hole in the firewall so you cna get to the bolt from inside the cab. if not, you'll have to use a ratcheting wrench to get the nut off and back on.

i've done quite a few and they're not a lot of fun.......:wrench:

I've used a 3/8 ratchet. they are real pitas sometimes.

Geeeeeezzzz, just remove the body, tighten the nut to specs, and put the body back on.... :wrench:

Actually, that is what I just did, but the body was just sitting on the frame... :D

A ratchet wrench will reach, but unless it's long, you will not get the torque you need.

Good idea on the hole in the firewall. Even the purest purist would not catch that if a plug was put in. ;)
