Hey Guys, long time no see. My 80s exhaust has decided its really starting to have enough. It already had a hole in the y-pipe joint, and now the upstream O2 sensor was spitout of the pipe because the nuts have either rusted or just worked loose. Fixed by bailing wire currently (no nuts will torque down). (shade-tree mechanic +1)

I'm going to replace the Y with a Magnaflow as soon as I can money wise, but was wondering if anyone had a exhaust shop in the Springs area that is quality and low price to re-pipe from 1st cat (deleting 2nd) to the muffler in from of rear axle thats already routed for higher clearance. Saw a recent post in 80s forum where a guy had to pay $400 for the total labor job.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks all.

I had Front Range Muffler, corner of Platte & Cascade do mine a few years ago - replaced the whole O2 sensor section back, used a dual inlet CAT in place of the Y pipe. Best price I found and they did a good job with it.

I just recently got my cat back replaced at Bud's muffler at Circle and Uintah. I had gotten a quote from Front Range as well that was very similar, but he was booked a couple of weeks out. Buds matched his price and started on it immediately. I also had the rotted off o2 flange nuts. They fixed that up for $40 I think with a new gasket and nuts. I was tired off the exhaust leak noise in the passenger floor board. I had them put in a flow master super 44 and I love the sound it makes over the stock muffler. Good guys and they really liked my 80. I'm sure Front Range is excellent too, but he was a bit grumpy they day I went by and I wasn't to impressed with the thrown together quote he gave me.

Bud's is a good shop also, they did well by me earlier in welding up the cracked Y pipe. But their quote on my job was quite a bit higher for some reason. Now that you mention it, I do remember the front range guy being on the cranky side.

Front Range has done right by us, honest guy took a fair amount of time trying to help us track down a problem.
