Sad but funny story. Had a customer who wanted to bring a brand new 5.7 GXR (fully loaded) to my factory to be armored and some other items installed. He asked for us to install a TRD supercharger.

I tried to explain that its not a good idea at this time. You never want to modify an armored car if it will reduce reliability of the engine. (you never know when the bad guys are going to try and shoot at you). I told him that I saw where a man in asia had installed one himself but was facing issues with the computer system. In short I told him NO i will not do it.

So before he armored the unit he sent it to some small local tuning shop. For those of you that are not from or have never been to the middle east - when ever you ask if someone can do something they usually tell you "no problem" even if they have no idea what you are talking about.

Well the first shop blew the engine. Customer asked again what we can do (urgent deadline on this car being shipped out of the country and into Russia. I told him I can armor it without engine and he get a factory engine installed at the dealership.

Well I armored the TLC and was told he would put a factory fresh stock engine back in. Well......... he didn't and sent the car to another tuning shop. This one knowing less then the first - so much so that someone from the shop actually called me asking technical support. When they told me they were installing a TRD SC on an armored TLC i knew exacaly what was going on. Had to tell the shop sorry cant help you and I want nothing to do with the modification as I instructed the owner against it.

What was suppose to be a 3 day repair has now gone on more than a month. The customer finally got sick of the shop and had the car sent back to my factory. - looks like the 2nd shop had a little bit of a fire.

So TLC has less than 100 miles on it and is now going to have to get a 3rd engine installed. :)

At that state, id even go against the idea of armoring it...

Yikes. Even if a stock engine is put back in I'm guessing that fire didn't do him any favors in the reliability department; I predict a world of electrical gremlins awaits the owner. What a shame.

Some people just love to learn the hard way! :)

Oh well, Money isn't an object to the owner!!! Black GOLD!!!!:D
