I am having some evil thoughts and they deal with parting out / selling my truck and upgrading to a newer 80.

The reason that I think I am having these evil thoughts is that I still have a ways to go in order to complete the restoration on my 80.

The following items still need to be addressed:

Paint-The whole truck
Windshield needs to be replaced
My CDL - Locker fiasco
2 Front seats need to be replaced
2 Head lights need to be replaced
Shaky DS mirror

Most of the remaining issues are DIY items, I just feel like I am never to get through this event.

I am on the edge and need to be talked back down.

Sit down and take a breath. You can get thru this. The LCA (Land Cruiser Anonymous) has meetings in every major city almost nightly. Call another 80 member to sponsor you. If you just admit you have a problem, you can begin to get better. By the way, the LCA has a 0% success rate so there's no way you'll get better, an thus, you'll get back into wrenching on your current project.
Hope this helps.
LCA Member #9856584... and still trying to build my 40...
Good luck.

After I had a few beers and came back to the list, I would have to agree with your assesment. The rig is close to complete, no need to go down another unknown road just because I think it would be a better course.

its not as bad as you think. somtimes it helps to step back and get some help. Everything Ive been thourgh working on the Taco, Many times i wished I left it stock:eek: But I love what I have built myself and have learned so much along the way.

Things get tough, and then you have to step back and take a good look at what you have, I saw something that caught my eye and I really believed that if I sold my rig, my restoration saga would come to an end. In reality, it probably would just begin again and then I would be spending more money on making the new truck right.

Soooo, we will keep what we have and finish it up hopefully sometime in the near future (Nov).

Hah! This is great! I just went through the same conundrum but I didn't post it up here. I made a list of everything I've done the to the truck in the past year (plus money spent) versus what I want to do to it yet, versus how much longer I have to pay on it. . . . and when I was done, it made more sense to keep the 80. So, it went to the body shop for rust rehab, new windshield, new roof paint, and buff job. Hoping to pick it up tomorrow or Wenesday. When in doubt, sink more money in it. :D

I think your rig could be a PA ROTW!
