I got my first Toyota Trails in the mail about a month ago and am sold as I knew I would be. Thumbs up for offering the introduction packet. SOLD. I am looking to restore my FJ40 I own however, I would love to attend a TLCA event. Does anyone show up with a "show" truck. I believe my cruiser is meant to be used and am not planning on having a trailer queen but want it to look as close to factory as possible. I am wondering if anyone attends that does not have a lift, or 350, or diamond plating or ect, ect, mod, ect. Thank you for all the info. Want to meet some fellow cruiserheads but do not want to show up and have everyone say WTF ::). Just trying to find my place in cruiser paradise.

I showed up to Cruise Moab '03 in my Heep. Cruiser was down, and I had already paid. They laughed and
jeered and ribbed me a bunch, but it was mostly in good fun, I think. :)
Seriously though, I'd go again, even with my Heep (although I'd more likely bring the fiancee's Corolla) but
hopefully my Cruiser will be back up and running soon.
It's as much about cameraderie as it is about a vehicle.

there were quite a few VERY stock rigs at BHCC-2003...including a few that were driven for wellover 1000 miles to attend. Yes, STOCK runs are always full at a TLCA event, that's one of the kewl things is you not only see the "big buildups" but the bone stockers too!

That is the answer I was looking for. I need to attend one very soon as I have never seen two FJ40's side by side. Sad really. :'(

Check with the hosting club. Some events are nicer for stockers than others. Some trails just do not lend themselves to a stock rig. I would hate to see somebody show up in restored rig only to find their new paint job being left in the first 1/4 mile of the trail. Cruise Moab has a nice variety with open spaces where a stock rig can shine, Cruisin the Woods had a easier route I'm not sure how tight the trees were on that section. I bet I lost a pint of paint at Cruisin the Woods. Black Hills Cruiser Classic has some trails for the stockers. Rubithon would probably not be a good idea. I believe the LSLC Roundup has some easier trails planned. I'm not sure how GSMTR would be. I've never seen any pictures from GSMTR on a trail I'd want to drive a restored rig on. I'm also a little unclear on all of the trail difficulties at the Razorback Ramble. I believe Glitter Gulch Gambol has an easier route. Again, check with the host club.

yes Cruiserwanted...

most events offer Stock runs and as noted, they are usually full. While hard core wheeling is rabid lately, this is actually the minority and most folks tend to lean to a moderately equipped truck that they can depend on.

But do contact the event and ask specific questions. I am hosting Rubithon and I would not hesitate to tell you &#039:Don't do it'. I also host McGrew Trail ride and tell hard core folks 'don't do it', they'll be bored. Excellent for stockers...

thanks for the note!

Come on down to the Lone Star Cruiser Round-up! Katemcy, Texas is a great place to play around in a stock rig (no trees to scratch up yer paint!)

Check it out at www.lslc.org!

I drive a mostly stock truck. It fits in with ANY Land Cruisers.
Cruiserheads are great people. I'd bet any event will have something
for you. Take the plunge....you are gonna like the water. :D
You just think you like that cruiser now. Wait till you see it in
it's natural state....hanging out with other Cruisers.
Ahhhhh...that first event.....nothing quite like it.
Lucky you!
