So I picked up a 95 JDM VX-L back in March. The interior is pristine and I want to keep it that way, especially the dash. I finally bit the bullet and bought a set of Escape Gear seat covers (1st and 2nd row), transmission cover, and dash cover. I have yet to install any of those yet as I am in the process of moving.
To be honest, I was originally going to get lamb skin seat covers because of the comfort and because I think they’re old school cool. But after watching videos and checking out their products, I was sold on the khaki canvas. However, the HARDEST thing to find is JDM rubber floor mats. For some reason I just couldn’t find them. But Escape Gear has them on their site for delivery to South African addresses only. wtf. So I hit them up and asked why. They told me that they were concerned about them arriving damaged. I asked if they would send them if I accepted responsibility, and they agreed!
So as you can see, I got my 1st and 2nd row floor mats installed today. The fit is pretty great. They come with Velcro on the corners, however, the Velcro doesn’t stick to the carpet, so that’s kind of a bummer. What else can I use to secure it in place? I’m concerned it’s going to shift around on me.
I just wanted to give Escape Gear a shout out. I ordered and received everything in the states within 3 weeks with great communication. Also, I know Equipt is the Escape Gear distributor in the states, but ordering from SA was actually a couple hundred dollars cheaper. I brought this to their attention and they’re looking into it as they told me they should be on par with their prices.
I’ll update the post as I go with installation. I did find it funny the way in which they shipped everything. I thought I was getting a sack of body parts until I got it open (see attached)…unfortunately it was just what I ordered in an awesome EG canvas bag.
