I've been using Escape Gear seat covers almost a year and a half. They have kept countless toddler spills out of the ventilated seats. I really like them, however just took them off to treat the leather and found that they have discolored the seats. It appears the rubbing from getting in and out has caused some of the seat cover black to adhere to the brown leather (door side of front passenger and driver side). My initial treatment of Leatherique Rejuvenate did not do the trick. Anyone else have these issues? Hopefully this will help anyone in making a decision to by these.

Are you sure that's not wear through the leather? I've got their seat covers on my back seat for kiddo and dog. I may have to pull them off to inspect the leather now...

That's a good question. Not sure if worn through leather would look black.

My first call would be to Paul at Equipt. Did you reach out to him? He would be most qualified to answer your issue than most people here.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give him a call this week. I was just trying to see if other people had the same issue and/or thoughts on how to remedy it.

Which fabric do you have? I have about 10k miles (1.5 years) of seat time on the charcoal (tough canvas) and put them on when the truck was brand new. I don't see any evidence of dye transfer. The pic is from my driver seat which should have the most chance for wear and staining.

Glad to hear it may just be me. Mine are also the charcoal color. I've had mine on since Jan 2021.

I have the same Escape Gear covers and the same color leather seats. The seat covers on my 100-series have a soft cotton (I think) backing layer which I suspect is better quality and creates a buffer between the cordura (which is tough and abrasive) and the underlying leather. Frankly, I would have gone with the same brand as my 100 but they don't make 200-series covers....not many alternatives for the 200 series.

Doggie pee pads under the cover help a lot. The absorbent side goes down and is soft like a cotton backing. I was worried about abrasion because I twisted out of the seat. Trying to break that habit now.

We have a bunch of pee protection pad things for the bed for when our kids were younger… this is a good idea because my wife and I are vertically challenged and tend to slide out as well.

Thanks for this tip.

Canvas seat covers seem to pull the moisture out of the leather.
Before I put them I did a liberal coating of Connolly Hide food, and plan to do this every quarter or so just to keep them moisturized.
I have them also installed (grey canvas on black seats). But I also have the Black Poly canvas in the defender and have not seen any color transfer to those seats (which get a lot more nasty than the LC.
