Engine/Trans whine when in Reverse but sitting still

Yep the Durango is now making a whine when sitting still and in reverse. Either coming from the engine or trans. Any idea what this is?

I am thinkning this might be the straw that broke the camels back and my finally try to get rid of this thing if this is a trans issue.

Yep guessing it is the trans. Guy on Durango forum mentioned he has had it for years with no problems - only in reverse & when engine is cold. Backed out of getting a TDI wagen so keeping the ol girl for a while now.
