What is the laws on swaping engines into vehicles here?? I know what they are in cali but being new to the area I know nothing about them here. Thinking of a diesel swap. Does it have to be an engine that was avail in the U.S.???

I would at this point think that you would want to stay 95 and older as I believe emissions is not required on vehicles of this age. I know my 95 only required safety.

Someone else chime in here, with a little more knowledge...

They're pretty lax, especially if you swap in a diesel, then all that emissions crap goes out the window. :)

I had looked around for giggles when I put my LS into my 40, and there isn't much there...

Welcome to N.C... We're not commies.

No worries....I did a diesel here. Of course, my diesel is newer than my truck, but they don't seem to care, especially on a vehicle that does not plug into the computer.
Are you looking to put a diesel in your 80? Toyota or other engine?

Yeah, If the OBD don't plug in, NC don't care about omissions, emissions, or illegals... They're all good to go...

Older than 95, no need to worry.
