Ok, I have my 1989 Chevy "chester molester" van. It runs, drives, has power, needs gaskets, BUT it's going to, soon, end up in my FJ40.
Here's the question... I welcome thoughts, feelings (Non-sexual ones), experiences, etc...
Do I keep the 700R4 automatic or the 4 speed Toyota transmission? I know there are pitfalls of both directions, I'm leaning towards the automatic, but I'm weary of the front driveshaft clearance when keeping the Toyota transfer case.
I like the O/D of the auto and the electronic control, but I like the snappy response of the 4 speed, especially with a 350 in front of it.
