So I want to purchase an Engine Stand and need some input as to what to purchase. I wanted to use it to rebuild the 2F Sean has available and then onto the F motor in the 69'. Summit has many types and prices available so I'm not sure which one will fit the bill.

Do yourself a favor and buy one with 4 wheels instead of 3. The better quality, the more you will enjoy using it.

If I didn't already own one, I'd buy the gear driven one that turns the engine for you while you crank. Wrestling with 800 lbs and trying to turn it upright sucks when you've had a long day.

Also, get at least a 1k rated (1.5 would be better). 6 bangers are hard on engine stands. They put a lot of leverage on the stand. You can get by with less on a v8, but the sixes need a lot of stand.

Summit has a nice one with a 360 crank for $200, is their any way to know if an F motor will mount or not?

Keith...
You can borrow mine if ya want before you go spending the coin. Take it and see if it works.
The F is approx. 200 lbs heavier than the chebby. Im not going to need it for a while....I HOPE!!!!
