I can rent a hoist/cherry picker locally, but the rental companies don't carry one of these...

Any idea where I can find one in Tucson? I am not opposed to buying one..

Harbor Freight?

IIRC it is on sale at harbor freight now.

yep... Ye ole Freight store... worth the penny even if it only works one time.

I didn't see it on the website, but with 3 concuring replies, I'll head down there this afternoon, thanks..

I hope this one works 2 times..;):hillbilly:

Dunno for sure they have one, but they'd be the first place I'd look. Right up their alley.

If you would like to I can loan out my cherry picker and leveler. I'm in Gilbert.

I found out my neighbor has a cherry picker I can use, and since he is closer..;) Thanks for the offer.

I'm just going to buy a leveler, at around $30, no biggie..I can get one thru Grainger if HF doesn't have one.

Not one to be had in Tucson

Lol, but the Carquest in Podunk does..:hillbilly:

Anyone want to come supervise a 4.6 pulled out of a F-150 this weekend?;)

I am just sorry that you have the need for one. I have been there on every vehicle that I have owned except for the 80. But the 80 engine is heavier than most of the others put together! It looks like something that belongs in an 18-wheeler! I would rather leave it right where it is!

Glad I bought one! Got it pulled, with a little vasoline, (tight fit). As you can see, the intake had to be pulled. I'm dreading the reinsertion.

That looks ugly!
I spent 20-plus years in the auto service biz. I saw plenty of engines in that condition. In my first 5 years, I worked on European cars. They were the "state of the art". Most of them had the cylinder heads off, most of the time. I was not impressed!
Then I spent 5 years working on Nissans, Mitsubishi's, Mazdas, and Subaru's. The rest of the oriental fleet. I was not impressed. They also spent a lot of time with the engines dismantled.
I moved to a specialty in Honda and Toyota maintenance. I became the Maytag guy! They never broke! I was just doing the same crap over and over. One timing belt looks the same as the next! I got so bored that I retired and quit! I mean it! I literally retired at 45 years old due to lack of work. Those cars are built all too well. I bought a cheap house and called it quits! Now, I sit here and remodel huts when I feel like it. I feed my lady a $100 bill when she feels the need for an ATM. I buy all the beer that I want.
My wife and I both do for a living, what we would each gladly do for free if we did not have bills to pay. We both have our dream jobs. Life is great! It doesn't get any better!
I thank God every day that I got out of the car biz! I had more than my fill!
