At what speed is it still safe to engage the CDL switch? I ask because it seems like the switches are in a bad spot as far a being just inches away from my knee while driving down the interstate at 75ish. If one was to bump the switch at that speed what would be the outcome? This is an 04 by the way. It seems like the switch is in a better spot in my 96.

Though the manual does not address it, I would go with under 12 MPH, just like H-L selector. Engaging any 4x4 transmission part at high speed usually does not end well.

Just my 2 cents

I don't like to engage it at a really high speed, but I've disengaged at about 45 maybe with no issue. I'm sure going slower can't hurt, and I certainly would s*** my pants for a sec if I engaged it going 75 down the highway. Also, I believe you have to be stopped and in N to select the H-L range, or at least that's how mine works...

Mine does to... should have read "D-L". If I had a few Bloodies this am, I would have a better excuse for typo's.
