Just curious what you guys think is a reasonable install price from an exhaust shop to install the EMS Cat Backs and Mid Pipes.

I was quoted $150 for cat back only and $350 including the cats.

It doesn't seem very complicated except for potential seized bolts (fingers crossed) and looks doable w/o a lift or anything so I may give it a shot.

The only problem is that 1: don't have time right now. 2: the weather sucks right now and 3: I want this now!

That's a little high, especially from them! My Toyota dealer quoted me $130 - 225 to install both. The high end of the quote was dependent on rust, cutting required and broken parts, etc.

^^That makes it worth it to you. Your time is always worth something. Maybe try and talk them down a little? Or shop it around until you find a better price.

Ah but this is a dangerous approach. There's so much that's worth it to me that I'd be flat broke if I didn't try to get a lower rate here and there!

I called around and found a reputable place that quoted $150 if it was truly bolt in/out not rusted.

Now that's totally worth it! Tomorrow at 1:00 :)

Excited / worried about it a little. I'm curious about the 2k drone.... have heard lots of peoples opinions on the matter.

My Land Cruiser has lived in Illinois and Michigan and the exhaust was heavily rusted with every bolt rust-welded. It was not hard to take off the cat-back part of the system with a sawzall. I only successfully got one bolt out, using lots of PB Blaster and an impact wrench. Everything else was sawed into small pieces. Installation was easy with all new parts, but I couldn't figure out how to get the resonator/tailpipe on without removing the trailer hitch, so that added some to the installation. If you can get the old one off and the new one on for $150 including the cats, I'd consider it a bargain.
