I have been removing a few obnoxious emblems around my vehicle lately and once i get them off I am left with this ring of residue that will not come off (pic attached). Ive tried getting it off with lots of different products (pic attached). Does anyone have a suggestion of what product to use or any tips? Thanks!

think it is 3M that makes a pretty cool soft rubber wheel made for removing adhesive from paint.
use it in a drill.
it is about $30 though.

Thanks for the suggestion ill keep that in mind

A few weeks back, I went to Home Depot looking for the 3M wheel / eraser and couldn't find it. I ended up walking out with a much cheaper cloth wheel that also goes on your drill ($7), that worked perfectly.

I would still suggest letting the residue soak in some Goo Gone for 5-10 minutes before taking the wheel to it.

Did you try a clay bar?

Try "ZEP Eraser Vandal Mark Remover"

This stuff works great. I got it from a local auto detailer so I don't know if its available retail. I removed lettering from a van that was about 2'X3' (each side) in size and did not use the whole can.

I'd say wet sand with some 1500 grit, a bottle of decent rubbing compound and obviously a buffer. Looks like you got just about all you can get off with adhesive removers. Sometimes you have to pull out the big guns.

Ive used lighter fluid and a rag with good results. No dont light it just rub :)

The soft rubber wheels work well. Go to your local auto body supply shop. Get the one body shop guys use to take off the adhesive from removing the rubber and vinyl body cladding.

High RPM I believe is the key to them working the best

I can't believe that none of that stuff worked on mere adhesive. Are you sure that's something ON the paint and not something UNDER or into the paint? Can you catch your finger nail on it? Is it a raised line or a depression? Does your nail go down into the paint? I'm wondering if it isn't a depression where something ate into the paint. Especially because it's only on top. Bird poop among other things, could have collected along the top of an emblem and etched into the paint. Megs ultimate compound may not be enough to remove that. In fact it's way to mild if you can catch your fingernail on it.
