I traded in my FJ Crusier for a 4x4 Tacoma a few weeks ago. I ended up with a base SR5 crew cab, with no elocker. I had a few sitautions in the FJC where the elocker saved my @$$, and would like one in the Tacoma.

Has anyone installed a Toyota elocker on a SR5 or TRD Sport (05+ Tacoma)? How hard was it and what is the process and costs. I would prefer to have an elocker than an ARB, I do not want to deal with air leaks.

Other options? I am all ears...

The base SR5 should have the same 8" rear end as the e-locked Tacoma OR, so in theory you could just swap in the 3rd member and wire up the locker. I can't recall anyone having done this yet.

For the TRD Sport axle, the only selectable option is an ARB.

if you find a whole trd rear axle, drum to drum, it would be easy. the wiring isnt too bad either, or wasnt on my swap (put an 04' elock rear in my 00").
