Ok before i do what i think have to do, i thought id ask the experts.
Were power door locks standard on an 84 fj 60?
Something was causing a bad power drain and I tracked it down to the power door locks and lights at the bottom of the interior panels of the doors.
I am pretty sure if i get rid of this stuff my problems will be solved. I don't see these 2 "luxuries" in the service manual. Does anyone have the exploded diagram of what the internal lock mechanism looks like for this year?

tks

Power accessories were not available on 60's AFAIK. It wasn't untill 62's came out that power windows/locks were added.
What is your problem? Can you give anymore insight? You mentioned power drain. What does your voltmeter say when running?

No power door locks on any of the 60 series - power locks, windows and mirrors didn't become an option until the 62 series. I'm not sure about lights in the doors, either. Mine is an '83 and it sure doesn't have it. Don't recallever seeing lights in the doors of a 60.

Someone could have added them and done a poor job of it. Depends on where they took the hot lead from. I'd trace all of the wiring you have going into the door and see where it goes (then pull it). I've thought about adding them to mine, so it's not an orig. thought. Trip to a junkyard and you've got yerself a fant-cy little add on for an afternoon's work.
