Trail: El Dorado

Description: This is a scenic fun trail that runs the canyons the East of Dayton. There are a lot of rock formations, mining, and trees along a creek that make this an interesting trail.

Date: Saturday, 4-17-09

Meeting Time:Leave time 9:00
Meeting Location: The parking lot of the Smith’s grocery store in Dayton on Hwy 50.

Trail Difficulty: Mostly 2 on the road, 3 in the creek

Additional Equipment needed: Lunch

Duration of Run: About 4-6 hrs depending on the trail conditions (how muddy it is)

Tread Lightly / CB Channel 3/ HAM 146.460 simplex

Well gang me and John will be in Vegas on that weekend but my wife will prolly be there running Drippy on that trail she new to wheeling but has a basic idea so if you guys would help her out would be much appreciated have had her out local a couple of times anyway have a good trip Gang

I have others, but none that turned out that good. The second one is of my co-pilot that day. Nap time...

Looks like quite a bit of run off in the river section there?
Was it muddy at that scary ass off camber, Ill ROLL YOU DOWN into the RAVINE section?
It was NICE and DRY last year, but I can see that would be a NASTY MO FO if it were mud.
 
It was bone dry everywhere except the creek. The off-camber area was dry, but it looks like some of the washouts are getting worse. I think in a few more years it will be time to get a group together and go up with a flatbed truck full of rocks to build some erosion control into a few spots, or it will get to the point people will make a new trail.

That is a great suggestion.

We should ask Mike to add it to the agenda for next meeting.
 
elderado was my first real trail with drippy n driving myself had an absolute awsome day n there was 12 vehicles total and a great group of people cant wait to do it again:clap:
