I can not seen to find the egr temp sensor on my 93, its not in the intake or the egr valve.

ours are the same- should be in that port plugged with a bolt at 10:00 viewd from above standing on the bumper, you may have a jumper like mine also. (jumper plugs into empty pigtail)

Tblume, I read both Ebag and your thread and others and could not find it on my truck. if some one did the jumper trick, I can't it. The rust on the bolt is as old as on the rust on the egr valve

It probably came that way from the factory. Some early 80's were a "federal" style, with the EGR temp sensor disabled.

So if its federal style, do I need to trick the ecm. And how?

It's already "tricked" for you.

That does not mean the EGR system is disabled. It's not. Well, not unless it's all plugged up which it probably is.

If its already "tricked" what controlled the egr valve?

The ECU never controlled it. Or at least not directly.

That's what the vacuum lines from the intake do.

Your making it sound like there is another way? Am i missing something?

That's probably the "best" way.

Another way is to just loop the 2 vacuum lines that run between the intake and the EGR system. Basically you take one and loop it from the EGR modulator back to the EGR modulator, and the other from the intake to the intake.

Yet another is to just plug the vacuum lines. Lots of people use BB's.

And yet another is to fill up your EGR modulator with something to block it off, such as JBWeld.
