Well... after taking my intake plenum out for the second time within 2 weeks, I figured out how to get the EGR studs off a lot easier than putting 2 nuts on them... 5mm socket bit on the tip works very easy and probably saves 15-30 min.

I hope I didn't miss this trick researching removing the EGR... didn't see it. Only the 2 nut mention.

Dan, I will be calling you tomorrow am with an order that will let you feed your dogs for a while.

Why are you replacing the EGR valve?

Be careful when replacing the metal gasket as it's easy to lose it in the bowels, never to be found again. The 5mm socket has been mentioned before but it actually takes a torx socket.

Not replacing it, just removing it to take the plenum off to get to the injector o-ring that failed... must have torn it putting the new ones in last week.

I've never used one of these. Does it remove the studs without boogering the threads?
