please help me out here.
my 1991 80 series blew the fusible link and the efi fuse at the same time. i replaced the fusible but the efi fuse continues to blow. the ECU side of the fuse shows continuity to ground. I have checked all wires for melting and rubs, isolated the fuel pump and most of the fuel injection sensors, the o2 sensors and the only thing that changes the continuity to ground is disconnecting the ECU. I examined the ECU and found no obvious damage. my next trick is to find the red/yellow wire at the ECU plug that is shorting to ground. i have tried all the spots that other threads have suggested for wear and melting but can't find any evidence of that. i even removed the shift console to look at the wire bundle that runs across the top of the trannie.
what might have brought this trouble on is that i used the grounding bolt at the right front fender to mount a daytime running light relay. there was no cross connection and the ground should have been good as the bolt was clean.
i have also tried removing the fuse block relays to isolate this problem.

The only efi component that i have yet to isolate is the mass air flow meter. thats next before i slit my wrists over this problem so any help you could give me might prevent my demise. lol

There is a known problem within the wiring of the EFI harness that sometimes manifests itself on the 3FE.

Here is a copy of an email I kept from 2000. It seemed to fix this guy problem.
