Suburb Solar | Making solar easy. I just learned about these. They are made locally to me and I thought I would share with the expedition crew.

Heaps of money for a battery + charger + inverter + so-so solar panel (only 45W!).

Basically they've just packaged stuff and put it all together for you for some significant profit...

For expedition, you already have lots of battery in the vehicle. So, all you need is a solar panel and charger (I bought an 85W unit with charger in australia for $200 delivered). The inverter can cost you $ or $$$ depending on power output and 'quality'.

Most everything I need power for while camping runs on 12V anyway, so I've no need for an inverter other than the odd charger that needs 110VAC. So for me a $20 - $40 ~200W inverter is more than enough.

Anyhow, they're targeting the super wealthy that need every toy under the sun or folk that just want a packaged ready to go unit (e.g. a company that can write off the expense).

Jeebus! I'll sell you my 50 watt system for only half that, then go buy a new one for the $200 it originally cost me.
