I've been looking at some of the threads on Catch Cans on the forums here and did some additional looking elsewhere.

Here is a link I found for a guy who made one from the oil/water filters installed on shop air compressors. Simple, Cheap, and Good Looking.

You are the circumventing and/or reinventing the PCV system guy......

Thats a reasonable option if the engine breathes very heavily, the catch pot is in the PCV run and the system is still connected correctly, don't removed the PCV valve and be sure to post you autocross times.

EDIT: Just a thought if it does breath heavily it might be time to look at why?

seems like a pcv valve would be easier?

But this is more technical and requires tinkering, whereas PCV valve is plug-n-go.

I got it put on tonight. I will post a pic tomorrow. $15 worth of parts from Homey Depot, plus a extra rubber strap from my UTV gun rack to hold it in place. Will make a fancy bracket later.

And yes - I will see if it's still breathing heavy. I just got this cruiser in May and finished all the fix-ups in November. It sat for a while. I had the head rebuilt and new steam valve seals - so I HOPE the issues are gone, but haven't driven enough to know, but will know in a few weeks based on how much is in the container (it's clear).

I was hoping to delay a block rebuild for few years. Just not enough time.

Shouldn't replace the PCV valve, just go in the pipe run and catch oil mist so it doesn't dirty up the inlet???? No I am not sure why either but lots of people do it, I think mostly for autocross or race?

Completely removing the Positive Crankcase Ventilation and dumping it into a snot bottle is not a good idea.
