Just a couple pictures from today's goofing off with my friend Mike Cicale who came to FG this past year in his stock taco. I finally got my truck on Nauset Outer Beach with last summer's beach permit, due to unforseen problems (piping plovers and blown headgaskets) didn't get out there at all last season. I followed Mike in his 5 ton Kaiser military truck that he and his dad converted and registered as a "camper". Yes, there's a sink, toilet and beds back there, the looks on people's faces when they saw that thing coming down the beach was priceless. You can see the engine strapped in the back of my truck, didn't help the rear axle from digging a little into the sand but I didn't get stuck, not to mention about two inches of sag in the back. As Mike put it "well, it's probably perfectly balanced!"
What I would give to spend a summer living here ^
Next project is to get that 10 ton winch going! ^
Goofy bastard... Note the dickies flannel, it was not warm out there but still a really nice day, and it's still one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, we're lucky to have grown up here.
