They will fit a 40. Those are a very nice rim. They fit 40s, 55s, 60s, and FJ80s and 93-97 80s with a semi floating rear axle (rare in the US). I ran them on my 91 for a couple of years, very nice wheel. The backspacing is what makes it so universal amongst Toyotas.
