I can't believe that Toyota puts these "E" rated tires on the FJ. These should be good for about 150K miles. I had a set of BFG AT/KO's that were "C" rated on my old FZJ80 and they weren't even halfway used up at 60K miles. The "E" rated are even more robust if you know what I mean. Anyone running these for awhile now? How are the wearing?

I have the same tires in 17". I have ~15k on them & still have a pretty new look. Not sure if this helps or not.

I may be wrong, but isn't the rating ie; c,d etc. referring to the load?

Yes and with this increased load cap. comes a stronger built tire. The E rated tire is 10 ply versus 8 ply for the D rated. Big difference.

I have E-rated Toyo MT tires on mine right now. They are nearly indestructible, but you have to air them WAY down to get any softening/traction off-road, like 10-11 psi.

I was going back and forth between D and E load rated AT's for my 100-series... ended up going with the 8 ply D rated AT's. E's are good for 1 tons towing 10k plus trailers all of the time. My 100 will be lucky to see a little 4x8 utility trailer or tent trailer at best, so even the D's are overkill for my application. The other thing to consider is the fact that the D rated ones had the snowflake logo, so they're supposedly better in the snow.

7/32nd's and they look good.
I do 5 tire rotations every 6k, so they have been running straight, with plenty of air in them, most of the time.
There is a little irregular wear on one of them and I have it up now as the spare.
I expect to take them off at 103K, in January. Just in time for the snow.
I will difinitely go back with the same tire as these have been good to me............gm
